Back on trail!!!
4.7 miles hiked
Today I got my ride from Stevens Pass to snoqualimie Pass from a woman named Brandy. When we got to the Chevron, I picked up my box and gave it to her because she offered to mail it back to my friends house and then I got a little bit of food and met a girl named Bullet, who offered to host me in Bend when I get there.
Then I met someone name Saunter who is 60 years old and is hiking with PCT for the eighth year in a row this year. Crazy, right?
We did a bit of a resupply and then I ordered a 16 inch round pizza to eat for lunch and then I packed out the rest of it for dinner on trail. Saunter and I decided to hike together and camp together that night because he was doing a double Nero and I was going to go further, but I really wanted to talk with Saunter and pick his brain about the trail and his wild life. We took it easy to camp with a couple rests and when we got there I convinced him to stay at this campsite instead of .6 miles more. (Which when I past that camp the next day I’m glad we chose the one we did)
We set up camp, talked with a day hiker who had a 14 year old dog named Buttercup and talked to a section hiker for a bit. Once they left we kept chatting till around 8:30pm. Sharing pizza, hot chocolate, cherries, and Reeses’s peanut butter cups.
He helped me pair down my gear again to lighten my pack when I get to the next town.
I slept with my rain fly off tonight. So peaceful being back on trail.
