16 miles hiked

This morning we started hiking later as we slept in and then decided to get breakfast at Red’s meadow. (I ate a bagel with cream cheese. Omgosh I missed eating those) We didn’t start hiking until like 10:30am. Then we hiked to the devil’s post pile which I was so excited to see. It was amazing. Such a great geological feature to get to witness in person.

Once I took my photos and saw the columnar basalt we started on to hike the remaining 14 miles. We started around 11:30am, which means we probably won’t get to camp until after 7pm. I usually like to get to camp by 6-6:30 so I know I will start to get very tired near the end of the day.

It was a long day. My ankle and foot were hurting a lot so it was just a struggle.
But I made it. Thousand island lake was beautiful to camp at. We ran into Celeb and others and I helped them with some of my food because Calzone was running out and I had some extra I was tired of eating.

I felt a little antisocial so I retired to my tent early and slept around 9:30
