Day 77

Today we woke up and I knew I needed to just rest in the hotel today besides a few errands we had to run. So we went down to the front desk and got another night’s stay.

The breakfast included with the hotel sucked fyi. Sucks when u pay a bit more to have it included and all they have is cereal and OJ.

We went to a Mexican food place for lunch and to three gear shops for us to look for gear we both needed for replacements/upgrades.
Then we went back to the hotel to hang out and rest my foot again.

At 5pm we went to see Thor: Love and Thunder.
It was a nice break and a funny movie.
Then after we went to the town’s little live music and market for a bit.

Then it was back to the hotel to rest.

Oh and we did a live Q and A on Instagram for 20 mins

Nice and easy day. The hotel let me borrow some ice packs for my foot and I iced it when I could.

Day 78

This morning Woodstock woke up early and got a later check out for 12pm. Then we went to the gas station for breakfast because again.. there was nothing at the hotel.
I ate some chicken soup and drank chocolate milk. Yum.

Today we sent things home in the post office. I took new progress pics (I’m leaning out a lot)
And I realized that my fanny pack was much too big for me and I needed a new one.

After the post office it was time to check all the gear shops again for fanny packs. All three stores didn’t have any unfortunately. So we took a break and had some second breakfast at the looney bean. Then we went on to hitch to dick’s sporting goods and I thankfully found one!

After dick’s we hitched to Von’s to resupply.
Then we hitched back to the hotel to organize our food.

At the hotel we heated up some Mac and cheese we bought and ate that after the food was all in our canisters.

And now it was time to hitch to the trailhead. We made a sign and tried to hitch for about 20 minutes.

Then a cop pulled up and I thought we were in trouble. Turns out he was going to give us the ride but he wasn’t able to go that far so we took the hitch to another campground in town instead and decided to hitch up in the morning when it would be easier to find a hitch.
Pretty fun riding in the back of a cop car haha.

At the campground we ate the sushi, salad and watermelon and ice cream for dinner. And we bought $2 flower mood rings together.
Then we met a family of 2 grandparents and grandchild and a dog and they offered to take us to the campground tomorrow late morning. And to buy us sandwiches for tomorrow’s lunch, so that was very sweet.

We went to sleep and realized front country camping sucks at night because of all the lights that stay on and drunk kids running around and sprinklers that stay on all night…
Blahhh
