5.2 miles hiked- Heli evac ride day

The majority of this day I don’t remember because of how out of it my mind and body was due to the sickness. Read my Heli evac blog for more info.

I do remember throwing up, catching up to the group. Telling them I can’t do forester pass today because of the throwing up.
Then hiking some more and meeting the rest of the group. Kernel going up ahead jogging to let the ranger know. Everyone divided up my gear weight and bag. I only hiked the last 2 miles (very slowly) with my trekking poles.
Then getting to Wallace creek the lowest point we could be at and everyone said I was declining so they hit the button for me.
While we waited everyone helped me stay awake and in consciousness by talking or singing to me, putting cold cloths on my body to keep my fever down (even tho I was freezing) and making lots of jokes.
The Heli came within 2 hours. The EMT dude gave me a needle and everyone saw that fun freak out (I’m terrified of them) and then I was loaded up into the chopper and I said goodbye to everyone. The Kernel made it back to say goodbye just in time.
Got the ride down to the hospital in lone pine. Got fluids and food and tests done.
They let me go within 2 hours and I hitched up to mammoth to stay at the Airbnb a day earlier then we all planned to get there.

That’s all I remember haha.
That’s all folks...
