Day 6 & 7 Double Zero (Also read my blog "A Double Zero on the PCT"
Day 6:
Started the day with saying goodbye to the boys (Michael, Augie and Hiccup) because they were planning to get to Julian in 2.5 days and I would in 4 days.

(Finally saw Carol again today as I was passing the restaurant. It was nice to catch up quickly)

I was about to get going around 10 am but my hip was just not happy with me.
So I called Sam and told him about the pain I was feeling and he told me to turn around and go back to camp stay another night. I cried on the walk back because I didn't want to have a rest day so soon.

When I got back to the campsite I got a room in a tiny house to have a bed to sleep on for my hip and I knocked on Erica and Jake’s door and told them that I’m staying for another day to rest.
Erica and I talked for hours and I mean literal hours … from 11am to like 9pm

I truly had a great day we ate lunch and dinner together both vegan meals which were absolutely amazing. (Who knew eh?)

I’m not even sure what we talked about anymore, but I know that we bonded very fast haha

Erica also has ADHD so that was fun to discuss our little quirks and what we had in common.

I also used their foam roller to roll out my hip and legs to help the healing process.
We chatted all evening in their wonderful tiny house.  (They built it themselves!)

Day 7
Today I woke up and the hip was still a little sore so I decided to stay one more day to ensure I would be ready to hike without pain.

After I made the decision I went to the tiny house block office and let manager know and then got the campsite for my last night.

I decided that since I was spending another zero in Mount Laguna and I had so many emotions running in my head because of it, I wrote another blog post for the trek. While I was writing the blog post Willow (the dog) was biting my feet.

Nick, the manager called me later that day in the afternoon and said that because I spent so many nights there and was a "frequent flier" he wanted to give me a gift card for the café. That worked out wonderfully because I didn’t want to spend too much more money for my zero days and I met some new hikers so I joined them for lunch. I ate a mountain burger which had fondue cheese, agnes beef, caramelized onions, and tomato and I also ordered onion rings and of course another apple pie with vanilla ice cream. After lunch I went back to the tiny house and hung out with Willow and Erica again until Jake was finished work.

Bill messaged me around 4 o’clock asking if he could come with his wife to drop off my shoes to me tonight and of course I said that would be awesome because I would love to see him again so they showed up around 7 PM and we got dinner together and caught up and I told him about the trail. I was very appreciative that he brought me new shoes to replace the ones I had that wrecked after 20 miles in. Big hugs when they left!

After dinner I made my way back to Jake and Erica’s house for some Mario Party and Mario Kart
Erica kicked ass at at Mario Kart.
After some video games and chatting we all realized it was past 10 o’clock so we figured it was time to hit the sack.
It was so much fun to goof off and hang out play with some video games, and make memories with new friends.
