14.4 miles hiked
I don’t remember too much from today because again I was so tired that I didn’t write my day’s blog till a week later.
I do remember I was determined to get to the top of the last mountain I had to ascend in the desert (for now) because the sunset was supposedly beautiful with the Sierra Nevada mountains in view.
And it was true.
Absolutely beautiful sunset.
Today I met kernel (I did meet him before at the KOA but we didn’t chat much 1 on 1)
I also met a girl named Pebbles, and then a couple named Mañana and game show, vibes, lazy boy, gnome, and psycho muppet.
I ate dinner with vibes and the couple on a log by their tent. I spotted a rattle snake under the log however halfway through dinner and we frantically moved away from him. Turns out he was digesting a big meal which I believe is the only reason he didn’t rattle or lung at Mañana who before knowing the rattler was there put his hand under the log to grab his meal.
Yikes. Close call
The sunset was gorgeous. I know I said that before but it was.
My last mountain of the desert. Wow.
I fell asleep very quickly tonight.
The wind was very strong and knocked my tent down a bit twice. I just let it happen the second time and went back to sleep. The poles were just leaning in towards each together so at least it was still standing.
The moon was also very bright tonight and acted like a nightlight shinning through my tent.
