Day 52

(True) zero day

What a luxury it is to sleep in. I slept in till 8:30/9am today. I finally got my shower this morning with shampoo for my hair. (Shampoo is also a luxury)
We packed up and headed to the bakery for 10:30am.
I bought a lemonade and a mini apple pie for breakfast and got a carrot cake for later tonight after dinner.
Our ride was going to pick us up at 11:30 so we had some time to eat and I also went to the gift shop next door and got my magnet etc.

Abel (our trail angel) picked us up and drove us to his place where we met his wife Kim and got to put our stuff in our rooms.
Then Kim drove us to Walmart so we could resupply. (Walmart's for resupply are a luxury too)
I only needed a couple things as I still had my box that I had shipped to Hikertown that Tigger brought here for me.

We took about an hour in Walmart trying to find things like mini spray sunscreens and Jess’s complete cookies… both of which we didn’t find. Well I found one sunscreen but I wanted to get 3-4 and ship them ahead. Oh well, next time.

After Walmart we went back to the house and Jess took a nap while I borrowed Kim’s computer to update my blog. What a wonderful gracious human to let me use her computer :)

For dinner tonight we ate a homemade meal for the first time in a long time.. for me since Idyllwild I think. Stir fry and rice. It was absolutely delicious.
Abel also fixed us some margaritas. This was my first full drink since starting the trail. It was incredibly yummy.

After dinner I finished a few more blog posts while everyone chatted in the living room.

Around 8:30 Kim went to sleep and Abel showed us the downstairs of the house.
Aka the "fun zone."
We played air hockey and pool and I drank another half of a margarita.

Funny enough, me being the only Canadian in the room… I lost to both of them at air hockey. I’m a disgrace to my country I know.

After those horrifying losses I challenged Abel to a game of pool to hopefully redeem myself…. I started off doing really well, and then slowly Abel started to kick my cue to the curb.
Then Jess and I played a game (this was her first time playing so Abel and I helped give her pointers and tips on how to shoot and what ball to hit etc)
I ended up hitting the black ball in, but we kept it out so Jess could finish getting all her balls in.

I did however hit the perfect shot. A shot I can never replicate again if I tried over 1000 times… I got three balls in three different pockets in 1 shot. It was amazing. I wish it was on camera because you should have seen our faces after the shot.
Incredible.
We ended the night there because how much better can a night get? Air hockey, pool, margaritas, homemade dinner, laughs, jokes and a killer shot?
Sleeeep time...

I fell asleep like a rock. The bed was so comfortable.
