Zero day in Hikertown

I checked out from the hotel at 11am and waited till 12:30pm for my ride to pick me up.
She was a little late because she thought I was in Agua Dulce, but I was in Santa Clarita.
It was okay though because I’m not hiking today so I can take my time and enjoy the day.
Jess and I were messaging on instagram and she was really struggling with the heat and she said that she might get a hitch from the water cache that crosses a dirt road.
As luck would have it the trail angel who picked me up manages that water cache and we were on our way there before Hikertown so I told Jess to get to that cache (she was still 8 miles away) and we will meet her there, fill up the cache and bring her to Hikertown with us.
We made it to the cache around 2ish and filled up the cache, and then arrived at Hikertown around 3-3:30pm.

When we arrived I retrieved my resupply box from their mail room, but my shoes still hadn’t come yet so I had to wait till later to grab them.

Jess, myself and 4 other hikers got a ride to the small store a few miles away and bought some snacks, drinks, and food from their menu. I ordered teriyaki chicken.. sadly I couldn’t stomach the chicken so I gave the chicken away and just ate the rice.

The caretaker of the place mentioned to me after arriving back to Hikertown and getting my shoes that he had a trailer on the property that has AC and he would let us spend the night for $40.
Sold.
It was so hot today at 35 plus degrees that once I handed over the money I stayed in the trailer most of the rest of the day.
I emerged for a little bit at night to visit the other hikers and drank half a Truly cooler. However, I was tired and still needed to go through my resupplies to find out what to ship ahead, so I stayed out for about 40 mins before returning to my trailer and watching a movie while going through all my supplies.

Tigger, another hiker, is skipping ahead tomorrow due to an allergic reaction on her feet so she offered to take my box ahead and meet me the next day to return it to me. This saves me shipping costs so I was very grateful.

Night night desert. Thank god for a tiny trailer with AC.
