Day 42
10 miles

Today is the day! Time to get back on trail after almost two weeks. This is going to be a hard day, but I know that. I'm prepared mentally as much as I can be.
Today I had to summit Baden Powell and get to Little Jimmy Springs campground to camp for the night.
It was long, difficult and I was nauseous for the first half of it. But it was so much fun. Type two fun for sure while hiking up that incline though!

I started out with wanting to do the 7 peak challenge. Very quickly I settled with 2 by the end of the day because it was my first day back after being sick for 11 days and I was still in rough shape. I was pretty dead after Baden Powell so 6 more was not going to happen, but I did summit 1 more.

I also met Jess today. She spotted me before I ascended the mountain and asked if I was Alyssa. Apparently she had been following me since before my trek as she saw my start date was before her.
We hiked together from the upper part of Baden Powel just past the spring until camp at little jimmy that night.

At the spring before the campground we filled up our water for the night and following day and while we were I spotted a bird and she had a bird bath in the puddle by the spring.

It was such a wonderful moment to witness.

When we arrived at camp we quickly set up our tents and then brought our food bags to the picnic tables at camp
In lots of pain as I write this tonight. I hope the hiking legs come back soon. It looks like it will be hard to sleep tonight because of the pain so I've taken a bunch of pain killers to help it subside.
