Day 34
8.5 miles hiked

I managed to hike 6.5 miles of the trail, but unfortunately I had to turn back and bail when I was about two miles up Mount Baden Powell. Which turned my total mileage of the day into 8.5.

Today is the day between being sick for 11 days that I attempted to hike the trail again.

Throughout my hike today I was coughing, throwing up, gagging and then throwing up again. I threw up about 6 times. It was a hard day. Every step felt like I was about to fall over. I was dizzy, dehydrated, nauseous, you name it. I tried and gave my all to get through to Baden and keep hiking to the next town. I did make the right choice turning back because as it turns out I ended up going to the hospital the next day from feeling so crappy and the ER doctor prescribed me two types of antibiotics.
And then I was sick for another 7 days… thank god I didn’t push through and hike to the next town for the next 6 days.
I don’t think I would have survived 6 days while being sick… while hiking over and down mountains.
