Day 3 mile 20-25.8

5.8 miles hiked

Today I woke up to excruciating calf pain so I almost didn’t hike today. However, due to Lifesaver giving me some magnesium powder I was able to rally and get my ass hiking. (I named her Lifesaver because I wasn't the only person who's "life" she saved that morning with having the items we needed.
Tonight a storm is coming in so people are being picked up from both Lake Morena and Boulder Oaks and being taken to the hostel that is located back at the beginning.
Adam and I decided we were going to hike to Boulder Oaks and we made it there in time for the last shuttle to pick us up. We chose this plan instead of waiting at Morena because we wanted to be further ahead on the trail when we were dropped us off the following day back to the location they got us from.

It was a beautiful day with little sun as the clouds were rolling in for the storm. First day without insane heat.

I didn’t need to worry about water for the first time since starting the trail so that was a load off my back… literally. I only carried a litre of water for this day.

I hiked on and off with Carol (who I met on the first day by the terminus) Hiccup (aka Adam) and the UK couple until Boulder Oaks. We spent the hike leap frogging each other.
Also came across Lifesaver and she informed us she was going to brave the storm coming. I don't envy her haha. We rolled into Boulder and got the last shuttle to the hostel.

When we got there Legend (Who is the human that started the hostel and has hiked the PCT before back in the day) had a few rooms still filled with stuff (as the hostel used to be correction facility or something of the sort) so we got to work and removed the old supplies from our room and vacuumed the space for us to settle in with our stuff.

He jokingly awarded me the "assistant manager" because I helped him choose what was salvageable and useable for the Hiker's Hostel future.

During the clean up Clive scared me half to death with a toy spider he and his wife, Ngaire found and I immediately screamed and then cried. Everyone in the hostel heard me scream bloody murder so that was interesting. They felt so bad, but I made sure that they knew I was okay and it was funny... though I'll never let them forget it haha.

I shared the room with Hiccup and the couple from the UK (Clive and Ngaire) and  Jessie, Carol, and Jessica were in the room across from us.

I also met some new people who's names I’ve already forgotten but faces I won't.

I ate 3 full plate servings of spaghetti dinner and two helpings of canned peaches. (Hiker hunger much?)

I also spoke to noodles (aka @BlazePhysio on instagram) about my feet, calves, shins, and hips hurting. I'm a mess I know. Her pup Honey is the sweetest girl and she gifted me her kisses and let me pet her.

So many laughs, jokes, and stories were shared over the course of the day today.

Side note I am determined to get Hiccup a toothless character from the movie "How to Train your Dragon" as an addition to his nickname.

Last joke of the night Jessica, Carol and Hiccup and I got onto the topic of my small hands and we put my hands up to everyone else’s hands and they were indeed.. smaller than everyone else's.
Now if you know the itsy bitsy joke... you know and I'll save that story for just the people who were there, as the kids say. IKYKY haha
