Day 18
2.2 miles miles hiked

Mom and I arrived at the I-10 underpass for 2:30pm and stayed until about 4pm.
We saw Honey and Morgan under the I-10 and got a cool buff from her that trail angel "Mamma Bear" made for the 2022 PCT hikers.
Morgan also helped my mom and I with a new lacing for our shoes to stop the numbing we feel while resting and walking.

Then we filled up our water and started hiking.

It feels so good to be back.
I feel at home here on the trail. I feel like I'm the most myself. The most free.

We only made it 2.2 miles instead of the planned easy 3.5 miles because my hip was aching up in the hip flexor area.
We sporadically camped in a dried up creek bed and started to set up camp and eat dinner.
The wind was absolutely insane tonight. Our tents felt like they were going to blow away so we reinforced them with lots of rocks.

Mom was so tired she went to bed early so she missed the sunset. It was so pretty. I took lots of photos.
It was cold outside while watching the colours change so I got out my new fleece to try it out. It is AMAZING. Best impulse purchase yet haha.

It is hard to sleep tonight because the moon is incredibly bright and the wind was fierce out and trying to blow my tent down.
