Day 16 and 17

Day 16 
Zero day 


Woke up today with extreme foot pain. I couldn’t walk properly to the bathroom. AKA a cat hole.
So I made the difficult decision to skip the next 26 miles and get a ride into PVC/Idyllwild.

I got a hitch with the man who help's Mike at "Mike's Place".
$100 later I made it to PVC

I saw Dave, Tom and Jerry and Forklift today at PVC. (Yes this is when I found out she changed her trail name)

I was so happy to see Dave especially. I missed him very much. He calls me his trail daughter which I think is awesome. Such a kind heart he has. We hugged tightly when we saw each other. 

Mike's friend (off trail) saw us trying to hitch to Idyllwild so he decided to drive us into town. I got my ride with Jeremiah, Dave, and Freedom.

Once I got there I made my way to Silver Pines Lodge to stay with some hiker friends I haven’t seen since Mount Laguna! (And I thought I'd never see them again) I met a new friend named Sarah aka "Lou" who is hiking with them now. 

I took a MUCH needed shower and gave my laundry to the host to do and grabbed a loaner shirt from her and borrowed Hiccup's rain pants to wear to town. 

We were off to meet the Mayor of the town which is a Golden Retriever named Max. Only in America is there a dog who is a Mayor. He was the best boy.

I also explored some shops and got a few magnets etc to ship home.

When we got back to the lodge we continued a great HP marathon (I saw the last 3 movies) and ate tacos for dinner and carrot cake and milk (I was craving milk so much)

We had some great laughs and jokes and played a game called perfect 10 (If u know you know) 

Went to bed later around 10pm and I slept like a log in a real bed. 

Day 17 
Zero day 

Today I had to say goodbye to the boys and Sarah. Sad Alyssa, but I had to take another day off due to my foot injury. 

I met up with Dave again today! 
I also found a place to stay with a Idyllwild trail angel and got Dave a spot to stay with me there as he didn't have a place to stay tonight. 

I went to Nomad's to get another pair of shoes to try on. Shipped back the old ones with Dave and was given a free sticker at the shipping place so that was cool. Maybe my trail name will be stickers since I love them so much?

Dave and I ate lunch together at the Red Kettle. They let us in because we were hikers even though they were closed.  
I ate a grilled cheese and ham sandwich and some fruit, while Dave ate some chili and a salad. He paid for my lunch which was very sweet of him to do. 

While I was in a store after Lunch looking at all their cute items I saw some bracelets that had crystal beads that were different colours paired to match what you need at that moment. For example, protection, healing, love etc. I asked the owners which they would recommend I get to help with my journey and they actually gave me my bracelet (Healing) for free. 
This town is filled with wonderful humans all wanting us to succeed. It is amazing. 

Also side note I got my period today… which shouldn’t happen because I’m taking the pill. Weird. And painful :( 
And I saw Carol again! Turns out she is staying at the trail angel's house too! We all got picked up around 4 pm from the town and brought to her house.

We ate tacos for dinner tonight! 2 nights in a row, but I'm not complaining. I love tacos, who doesn't?
Laura the trail angel also asks all her hikers to say what they are grateful for before we eat dinner and I loved that.
I'm grateful for the wonderful and kind people I have met since starting this journey.
You are all making it an experience I'll never forget.
