Hitching to Quincy (to get closer to my friend from the Desert and hike with her)

Today I hung out with Flame until her bus left at 10:55am. We went to a coffee shop and chatted and then the bus station.

Then I went to the gas station and set up to hitch with my sign to Quincy.
After about 15 minutes (it felt like an hour because of the heat) I heard someone behind me say “We will take you.” And it ended up being a husband and wife. They lived in Reno but said they had nothing else to do that day so they took me 2 hours out of their way to get me to Quincy and then drive home.
We had a good drive chatting. When we got to Quincy they asked me where I was staying so the could drive me there…. But I didn’t know where I was staying.
So we drove around the town once to see what there was and decided to drop me off at the fire station to ask any firemen if they had any yard I could camp in or a living room floor to sleep on.
One person said yes and I waited for 40 mins for them to be done with work. His wife and kids came by as well and I got a ride with them.
Then I quickly set up camp and we went to the store for me to get some food.
Then we did some laundry for me, I got a nice home cooked meal and watched The Greatest Showman for the first time.
It was a late night, we stayed up till about 10pm.
